Two of the greatest late Hanafis to have ever lived passed away at a relatively young age showing the tremendous Barakah that Allah the Almighty placed in their lives; Ibn Nujaym at the age of 44 and Ibn Abidin at the age of 54.
Three important Shaykh al-Islams (seyhulislam) of the Ottoman Empire in terms of their impact on the Hanafi madhhab:
1) Mulla Khusrow - Molla Husrev (d.885 AH/1480 CE)
2) Ibn Kamal Pasha - Kemalpasazade (d.940 AH/1534 CE)
3) Abu'l Saud - Ebu's Su'ud (d.982 AH/1574 CE)
When Sultan Mehmet (Muhammad) al-Fatih conquered Constantinople, and entered Hagia Sophia, he saw the author of Durar al-Hukkam, Molla Husrev (Mulla Khusrow) being honoured by the people, and commented, “Behold, this is the Abū Ḥanīfah of his time!”

A decent biography of Ibn Nujaym (d.970 AH) by Ahmad Abdul Mun'im Rayhan, although a lot more could be added.
